Diagramming the invitation

First 100 Days Ep 6 – Diagramming the Invitation w/ Jeremy Henderson
bywith Aaron J. Babyar

Making the Ask with the right kind of confidence is important. This week we’ll talk about what it means to have confidence in yourself, but more importantly confidence in God.

How to ask with confidence

We have learned quite a bit about defining and refining the process for success in support raising. You’ve written and practiced, called and invited, documented referrals, and learned about the important follow-up that’s needed. But how are you doing with your actual Ask? Are you issuing potential supporters an invitation to join you in something bigger even than your (hopefully) contagious enthusiasm?

As you read in The God Ask, the real power behind the Ask isn’t yours. The confidence comes from knowing you are giving others the opportunity to invest in something big, unique, and exciting…something God is doing!

Beware lest you say in your heart, ‘My power and the might of my hand have gotten me this wealth.’ You shall remember the Lord your God, for it is he who gives you power to get wealth, that he may confirm his covenant that he swore to your fathers, as it is this day.” –Deuteronomy 8:17-18 [ESV]

God Himself brought you to this vision, to that phone call, to that meeting, to that Ask. You are not begging! In this firm belief that everything belongs to God and that He disperses it as He chooses, you are free to share the vision and invite others to participate with confidence. Diagramming out “The God Ask” chart can be a helpful visual aid, allowing others to see how they are being given an opportunity to be a part of something bigger than you or them, something God-sized!

May God bless you in building your team of ministry partners,
