First 100 Days Ep 14 – Heart Check w/ Vanessa Sambrano
bywith Aaron J. Babyar

Sometimes it’s easy to see people as dollar signs instead of ministry partners. This week we discuss how to keep it personal.

Article14

Make it personal

Has it happened yet? You meet a prospective partner, perhaps one with great financial potential, and you don’t see the person as much as you see potential dollar signs. Ouch. You are not alone if this has happened to you, and it’s a great reason to pause and reset your human heart.

“If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal.” –1 Corinthians 13:1 [ESV]

At this point in your support raising journey, the process may start to feel depersonalized. To guard your heart against this, stay prayerful and be mindful that support raising is not about you. It IS ministry, as you are inviting people to participate in the Great Commission along with you!

You have a high calling. You get to share with people about issues and causes that are on God’s heart, while showing them how they can partner in a mission they may never have otherwise considered. As such, it’s vital to have a posture that includes a loving attitude, kindness, and gentleness as you invite people to participate with God, you, and your particular ministry.

May God bless you in building your team of ministry partners,

This Week’s Self-Improvement Challenge

Do some self-examination about how you view potential partners, yourself, your ministry, and God’s sovereignty over it all. Discuss with your accountability partner. Ask how your attitude is coming across, and how you can adjust accordingly. The posture of your heart is critical!
